The Online Webinar on ''Effective Policy Paper Writing for Women in Agriculture'' through Zoom Cloud was organized by ICAR-Central Institute for Women in Agriculture (ICAR-CIWA), Bhubaneswar on 27th May, 2O2O.

The programme started with the welcome to the resource persons and participants by Dr. S. K. Srivastava, Director, ICAR-CIWA. In his opening remarks, Dr. R. C. Agrawal, DDG (Ag. Edn.), ICAR, New Delhi stressed that ICAR-CIWA should come out with policy recommendations, for which this training is of paramount importance.
Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad delivered a lecture on ''Women Friendly Agricultural Policy Development', in which he presented an overview of the role of women in agriculture and the need for women-centric policy development in agriculture.
Dr. Anjani Kumar, Research Fellow, IFPRI, New Delhi in his lecture on ''Writing Effective Policy Papers'', gave an outline of the components of a policy paper, important drivers of the research output, and the three R's of a policy recommendation viz., ''Right information'', in ''Right form'' and at ''Right time''.
In his concluding remarks, Dr. R. C. Agrawal reiterated that ICAR-CIWA is an unique institution, and it should show its uniqueness by bring out gender-centric policy recommendations. Dr. Ananta Sarkar and Dr. J. Charles Jeeva from ICAR-CIWA coordinated the programme. All the Scientific and Technical Staff of the Institute participated in the programme.
