ICAR-CIWA empowered twenty Farm women of Khordha, Odisha under the CAT Programme of NABARD

Under the Capacity Building and Adoption Technology programme of NABARD, ICAR-CIWA Organized two days training programme on gender empowerment for Twenty farmwomen of Maa Durga Sanskrutika Parisad & Pathagara, Khordha, Odisha from 27. 02.19 to 28.02.19. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. S. K. Srivastava, Director of the institute. In his inaugural address, Dr. S. K. Srivastva informed that the institute is constantly working to address the issues of women in agriculture for farm women empowerment to realize enhanced productivity, income and sustainability of agriculture. During these two days of training programme, the farm women were given hands on training on Backyard Poultry & Duckery, Dairy & Goatery, Drudgery reduction, Mushroom cultivation, Bee keeping, Vegetable cultivation, and Insect & Pest management. A special session on integrated farming system for doubling their income was conducted. Exposure visits for the farm women was also conducted to the different experimental units of ICAR-CIWA research farm. The programme was coordinated by Dr. A. K. Panda, Principal Scientist & Course Director and Er. Chaitrali Mhatre, Scientist & Course Coordinator.
