Farm women groomed by ICAR-CIWA awarded in National Conference at Koraput district of Odisha

ICAR-CIWA displayed its technologies in an Exhibition organized during the Conference on "Farmers First for Conserving Soil and Water Resources in Eastern Region" organized at Sunabeda, Koraput during 6-8 February, 2019. The programme was organized by Indian Association of Soil and Water Conservationists (IASWC), Dehradun in collaboration with ICAR-IISWC Research Centre Koraput. CIWA Exhibition stall was visited by 85 delegates and 500 farmers from the Eastern states of India viz. Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, West Bengal and Odisha. The Conference was also attended by two Progressive Women Farmers, nominated by ICAR-CIWA, Smt. Kanaklata Panda and Smt. Binati Parida, of Kadua village of District Puri, who were felicitated in the Conference for their outstanding contribution in Natural Resource Management and mobilizing the Women Groups in Participatory Resource Conservation and Management. The Women Friendly Technologies and Equipments of ICAR-CIWA, displayed at the Exhibition were quite popular among the farming communities and several developmental organizations working for the cause of farmers from different states of Eastern India. The entire work of displaying Institute's technologies in the Exhibition along with the visit of progressive women farmers to the conference was successfully organized by Ms. Ankita Sahu, Er. P.K. Rout and Er. Subrat Das from ICAR-CIWA.
